Adventures of a SWAY Events Intern

Being a SWAY Events intern is more than just an internship; SWAY is a way of life. My name is Sami May, and I am proud to be a SWAY Events intern!

Professionally speaking, SWAY is an incredible opportunity for me to utilize my education and the skills that I have gained through my ASU Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies and Special Events Management programs. Interning with SWAY gives me an enormous amount of hands-on event experience on a daily basis, from planning them at the SWAY Events Office to executing them on-site.  Plus, I am learning how to network with business professionals and develop new client relationships here and abroad!

As for the impact that SWAY has had on me personally, the SWAY Events team has been incredibly accepting of me since day one!  Prior to coming to SWAY, I was seriously shy and didn't have a social life to brag about, but the friends and acquaintances that I have made since joining the SWAY Team has changed all of that! I can be myself at SWAY-- whether we are at the office working or socializing over a few drinks afterwards with friends, I now find myself surrounded by some of the greatest people in this town!

I get to work with incredibly amazing people that are more than willing to teach me all that they know about the industry and are genuinely concerned about my transition from studying this field as an ASU student to becoming an industry professional.
